The U-14 B final took place last Monday evening in Newcestown between Valley Rovers and Keelnameela.

These teams having met twice before during the season, served up an absolute cracker of game with the final outcome not known until the last blast of the whistle.

This game was end to end stuff, with both teams battling hard for those all important scores. Keelnameela started well and raised the white flag eight times in the first half. However, Valley Rovers knuckled down and with the help of two goals there was only a point between the teams at half time. Keelnameela 0-8 Valley Rovers 2-1.

 On the resumption, Keelnameela extended their lead with a goal and looked like they were in cruise control. But Valley Rovers never gave up and with five minutes to go they drew level. The game was now in the melting pot and the excitement was at fever pitch.

Both teams with looking for those winning scores and Keelnameela found them, adding 2 points . Despite their best efforts Valley Rovers were unable to bridge the gap and Keelnameela emerged two point victors. Final score Keelnameela 1-11 Valley Rovers 3-3.

Once again John McCarthy, West Cork Fixtures Secretary was on hand to present the cup to the Keelnameela captain Siobhan Kelleher.
